Episode 5: Tips for a Successful Black Friday

In 2019, 93.2 million buyers made a purchase online on Black Friday. Black Friday is arguably the busiest shopping day. The holiday sees 93.2 million buyers shopping online as compared to 83.3 million shopping on Cyber Monday. This resulted in a 14% surge in online shopping, which hit $7.4 billion.

My challenge is for you to think of something you can do to love on your customers, pasts hosts, current hosts to increase the opportunity of future business.

Decide what specials (if any other than what Home Office will give you) you might want to offer.
  • Free recipe e-book with each purchase.

  • Market the Home Office Free Shipping & Guest Specials

  • $10 off a product, 20% off of something or during a certain time line. Free cookbook for each order, etc..

  • Special Holiday Recipes, Gift Ideas, 3 day express party.

  • Live Zoom cook with me or Demo

Prep your Social Channels..
  • Update your cover photos on your biz page, VIP group group etc to market what you’re doing. I’m creating an image that says something like  Save the Date… Black Friday Holiday Extravaganza. Recipes, Games, Special Offers inside my VIP Group

  • Update your bio or call-to-action button to include a direct link to your dedicated Black Friday or Cyber Monday landing page.

  • Start Creating images for your specials/offers and making your own template.

  • Plan & Schedule your Posts in your Group ahead of time! When prepping for Black Friday this is especially important if you want to market customers coming to your page at a specific time or early in the morning.

  • Post Daily in your story about it leading up to the event.. You want to create a sense of urgency.

Most shoppers have a natural sense of urgency during Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but that doesn’t mean you can’t inject some FOMO (fear of missing out) into your social media campaigns.

A simple yet effective way to create a sense of urgency is to sprinkle time- or scarcity-related words throughout your social media content. Words like “today” or “now” trigger people to think something is in limited supply and urge consumers to take immediate action.

Other examples of time-related trigger words to weave into your content and CTA buttons include:

  • Hurry

  • Shop now

  • Limited-time offer

  • Instant savings

  • Save today

  • Limited number available

  • Don’t miss this

  • Today only
